10 Days of Nature

May 7, 2024 @ 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Parks and Recreation is collaborating with The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail on a biodiversity adventure.

During our visits to different locations, we will explore the diverse flora and fauna of Citrus County and understand the vital roles these ecosystems play in maintaining ecological balance. With the chance to observe various bird species and endemic plants, this outdoor adventure is not only a great way to connect with nature but also promotes personal health and well-being by encouraging physical activity and mindfulness.

All walks begin at 8 a.m. and may last up to 2 hours. Please bring water, snacks, bug spray, and any necessary necessities. Wear comfortable sneakers and clothing, as well as a hat. Please note that some locations may consist of uneven terrain, paved or soft sandy trails in shady areas and/or full sun. Please be prepared.

To truly grasp the essence of this particular event, it is highly recommended that you attend it in small groups and register in advance to secure your spot. This way, you can fully immerse yourself in the experience and gain a better understanding of the various flora and fauna present in the surroundings. Such a setting fosters a more interactive and engaging learning environment, allowing you to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the natural world around you.
