Hurricane Recovery and Resources
Citrus County has shown incredible resilience in the aftermath of both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Communities in Crystal River, Ozello, and Homosassa, which were affected by flooding and storm surges, have come together to support recovery efforts. Local authorities, first responders, and volunteers have worked tirelessly to restore essential services, clear debris, and ensure public safety.
Infrastructure repairs are underway, with power being restored and roadways reopened in key areas. Businesses, including many of our local restaurants, shops, and accommodations, have begun to reopen, signaling a strong push toward recovery. Local government and community organizations are also providing resources and support to help residents and business owners get back on their feet.
Despite the challenges, the spirit of Citrus County remains strong, and we continue to welcome visitors. As recovery progresses, we remain focused on rebuilding a safer and even stronger community for everyone.
