Pirates Cove Redfish Release

At the heart of the event is a unique “Adopt-A-Redfish” sponsorship program, where local businesses sponsor 100 tagged redfish that are released into local waters. Each fish is linked to a prize provided by the sponsoring business, creating an ongoing opportunity for anglers to participate, explore Citrus County waters, and win. Each sponsored fish will carry a unique tag. When caught, anglers simply photograph the fish, report the tag number, and release it back into the water to claim the associated prize. With no strict end date for catches, the event is expected to generate excitement and visitation well beyond the initial release. Proceeds from the sponsorship program will be managed through CCA Florida, a nonprofit organization, and will directly benefit improvements at Pirates Cove Park, helping to enhance access and recreational opportunities for the community.
