Archaeology Class: Latest Findings in the Archaeology of the Seminole Wars

The Seminole Wars left traces across Florida that archaeologists are still reading.

This class series covers what recent fieldwork has turned up at fort sites, camps, and battlefields across the peninsula, and how that evidence is changing the accepted account. Most of what we know about the Seminole Wars came from military records written by one side. Archaeology is filling in the rest. A look at recent excavations and what they reveal about how these conflicts were actually fought and lived. No background required.
