Three Sisters Springs

The treasure that is Three Sisters Springs is surrounded by a narrow strip of remnant forest that is all that’s left of what was once an impenetrable sixty-acre stand of hydric hammock forest in the middle of Crystal River. You hear the birds before you see them, their chatter briefly interrupted by the intermittant breaths of the resting manatees in the clear waters below. Obviously, the birds are the side show. It’s that magical of a place. A newly created wetland on the other side of the Parking lot now draws wading birds as this sanctuary, through the skillful effort of humans, begins to return to what it once was. If only once in your lifetime, you must come and see this place. Seasonal land access.
