This artificial beach on the Gulf of Mexico sits between the mouths of the Crystal and Salt Rivers and provides the perfect beach-head for birders eager to see Black Skimmers, Royal Terns and the occasional Roseatte Spoonbill or Magnificent Frigate Bird.  A short boardwalk winds through hammock alive with bird chatter on the way to the Pier and Boat Launch. Wood Storks and Tri-Colored herons are frequently seen in the tidal marsh as dolphins break the surface offshore.
